Bob Lau, Vice President- Investments

Bob has been Vice President of Investments since March 2005.  He is responsible for the Investment Division and oversees a team of Financial Advisors. 

Bob began his career in the Investment Department at The Canada Life Assurance Company.  Working as a retirement specialist and progressing to various specialist roles in Investments, and Group Pension and Benefits, Bob has worked with numerous brokers, agencies, and businesses ranging from small to large corporations.

Bob graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts degree.  He has successfully completed many industry courses like the Canadian Securities Course, the Life License Qualification Program, and the Professional Financial Planning Course through the Canadian Securities Institute.  He is currently working towards obtaining his CFP (Certified Financial Planner) professional designation. 

Apart from work and continuing education, Bob is actively involved in the community through athletics.  Past involvements include being part of the University of Toronto Varsity Blues Badminton Team where he contributed to a very successful season by helping the team reach the OUA finals.  In 2005, he was crowned the Ontario B Men’s Singles and Doubles Champion at the Ontario Provincial Championship. 

In his spare time, his other passions include fishing, cars, and gardening.
